

CSA B52 requires the owner of a refrigeration. CSA B52 Mechanical Refrigeration Code and CSA B51 Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Pressure Piping Code are adopted standards under the Power Engineers, Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Refrigeration Safety Regulation (the Regulation).(r) “CSA B52 code” means the Canadian Standards Association standard B52-05 Mechanical Refrigeration Code adopted pursuant to clause 10(1)(b) (s) “graduate engineer” means an engineer who has graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering or a university degree that is recognized.


This includes refrigeration systems installed in a new or existing premises.

Note: This Standard does not directly address protection of property and preservation of the environment.ġ.2.1 Except as specified in Clause 1.2.3, this Standard applies to the design, construction, installation, inspection, and maintenance of every refrigeration system as provided for by the 'Act' (as defined in Clause 3) and identified in this Standard.Ī) all refrigeration systems installed subsequent to its adoption. The purpose of this Standard is to minimize the risk of personal injury by providing minimum requirements for the design, construction, installation, inspection, and maintenance of the mechanical refrigeration systems and volatile direct refrigeration systems specified in Clauses 1.2.1 and 1.2.2. The following codes, standards or parts of a code or standard of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) are adopted: (a) CSA B51-14 Boiler, pressure vessel, and pressure piping code (b) CSA B52-13 Mechanical refrigeration code.
